Josh is a 30-year veteran of the education industry and one of its most successful entrepreneurs. Prior to joining Sokanu, Josh led Wireless Generation — a K–12 assessment and curriculum company — as its President and COO and later as CEO of its Learning Division after it was acquired by News Corp and rebranded Amplify Education. He has held senior executive positions within Kaplan and at Teachers College, Columbia University. He started his career as a high school English and Philosophy teacher. Josh holds a BA from Harvard and MA and EdM degrees from Columbia University.

Spencer founded Sokanu in 2012, based on a theory that most career development technology hadn’t evolved since the 1950s. He led the development of the company as CEO through 2017, and is now President and a Board Director. Spencer is also the founder of Prelude, a cybersecurity training and automated red team tool used by a variety of organizations, including intelligence agencies and large corporations. He is also an advisor to several seed/impact venture funds, and studied econometrics at the University of London. 

Stephen Smith is the CEO of Intellispark, chair of the national board at College Possible, and a member of the board of the National College Access Network. He was previously co-founder and chief executive of Naviance, a leading college and career readiness platform used in 12,000 schools in more than 100 countries. He later joined Hobsons through its acquisition of Naviance, where he was president and chief product officer and led global product strategy, corporate development, student data privacy, and research and development. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, cum laude, and an MBA from Cornell University.
